What if it is much simpler to reach your goals than you think?
Right now, you probably work hard, focused on productivity and performance. You hustle. You listen, trying to take feedback on board to improve. You know you do really good work. You’re hoping like hell the right people notice.
But waiting for the right people to take notice leaves you feeling helpless. Waiting for what you want to fall into your lap is not a great way to get what you want in life. You don’t have a lot of control in that scenario. So, it can be very frustrating. It’s like dating. Nowadays, women don’t expect Mr. or Ms. Wonderful to drop out of the sky on a silver platter. If you want to put the odds in your favor, you take control and use dating sites to be able to meet more people.
The same rules apply to other goals you have. You can put the odds in your favor.
Take the shortcut! There’s a secret alleyway you’ve forgotten. When you were a little kid, you used it all the time. You probably drove your parents crazy with it.
It’s a catapult that can quickly put you within grasp of what you desire. Something that is at your fingertips, at all times. It’s simple, yet very powerful.
And yet you probably avoid it like radioactive waste. You duck and squirm and shrink and twist in the face of it. Deep down, you know it has great power. But the idea has you wringing your hands, getting sweaty, even feeling nauseous.
What is it?
Asking.
You can actually step forward, stand tall, and ASK for what you truly want and need to reach your goals. How amazing is that? You can ask for help. You can ask for money. You can ask for more money. You can ask for an investment. You can ask for a connection, access, advice, even a collaboration.
Imagine how your life might change if you asked for something that really matters to you. What could you do? How would you feel? What are you NOT asking for that is right there for the asking? I bet there’s at least one ask sitting right there… hiding in plain sight.
